One of the reasons why we do scrapbooks is because we like to preserve our precious photos. But sometimes, we tend to disorganize our materials and  forget to protect our DIY photobook from harmful elements.  So let’s figure out how to take care and organize our scrapbooks.

Categorically, segregate your scrapbook materials

Before, I just put whatever scrapbook materials  na nabibili ko sa isang table or box. Big mess! May mga crinkled papers, hard to see cut outs , and deformed decorations na nakakasira ng moment sa scrapbooking.  

When it comes to organizing – it  depends on your preference  but I suggest that you segregate your materials by their purpose.  Like pagsama-samahin mo yung mga…

• stickers – 
• dividers and  frames –  minsan may ganitong type na  mala-sticker pero para di ka malito igrupo ito ng ganito.
• cut outs from magazines, newspapers –  ito ang pinaka-cluttered part ng pag-i-scrapbook ko. Siempre nag-iiba ito ng sizes, theme and quality ng paper. Ipinapayo ko na magandang lalagyan nito ay folder or  envelope
• Scrapbook papers – Isa ito sa pinaka-expensive na bilhin kaya sayang kung mapupunit, mababasa or malalamusok. Ang pinaglalagyan ko nito ay empty box ng dati naming DVD player para sakto  sa  mga papel up to 12 x 12 size.
• decorating tools – ito yung stamps, embosser,  scissors, double sided tape and etc.
• writing tools – color pen, ballpoint pen, pencil etc
• decorative items –  buttons, bookplates, foam shapes,  etc.
• lettering –  whether made ito sa foam, stickers or cut out sa magazines
• photos
• memorabilia – tickets, cards, letters at iba pa. 

Produce top quality shelf or protective container

Sa ngayon ang lagayan ng scrapbooks ko ay yung nabili kong sale na foldable storage box na puwede ring upuan.  Naiiwasan yung alikabok at organized sa loob – hindi natutumba-tumba.  Pero may  iba na mayroon namang shelf or cabinet para sa kanilang scrapbooks. Bakit hindi puwedeng kung saan-saang table lang? Puwede kasing maabot ng mga bata, mabasa ng kape or soda at kung anu-ano pa. Sayang ang gastos, effort at memories.

Medyo dini-discourage ko rin ang pagbabalot ng scrapbook like plastic cover kasi nagawa ko na siya- sablay inamag ang cover ng scrapbook.

Choose well your decorative items

 Hindi naman lahat ng pagkakataon ay gagamit tayo ng nabibili lamang na pang-decorate sa scrapbook. (read: How to create beautiful inexpensive scrapbooks? ) Maraming puwedeng gamitin like old buttons, retaso, at yun nga cut outs mula sa magazines. May iba rin na gumagamit ng native materials like abaca. Pero i-research din kung talagang okay ang gagamitin na materyal kasi baka acidic ito na makakasira lang sa quality ng scrapbook.

Get rid the unneeded 

Yes let it go kung tingin mo ay ‘di mo na  magagamit. Tanggalin mo na rin yung mga part na nakakatakaw sa espasyo ng storage box. Mas sisimple ang iyong paghahanap ng gamit at di ka na kailangan ma-distract ng maiko-consider ng pang junk shop.

Find or Create Scrapbook friendly corner

No need naman na magpagawa pa, in fact kung feeling mo safe ang container mo ng scrapbook sa taas ng cabinet mo okay na ‘yon.  Basta masigurado lang na hindi maiinitan, mababasa o malalamigan ang iyong mga gamit. Dagdag pa  yung hindi naman pahara-hara sa iyong daanan.
