For quite some time now, I call myself Technopreneur and then when I started to venture in different products and services, I know that I also want to be a Serial Entrepreneur.  However, working on my own as a businesswoman and preparing for riskier venture, I guess I should consider myself as a Solopreneur too.   Ano ba pinagkaiba nito sa pagiging freelancer or self-employed?

Compare sa technopreneurship and serial entrepreneurship, there are negative notions in solopreneurship. Steve Tobak’s article “Don’t Be a Solopreneur. Do This Instead” on Entrepreneur.com gave ideas about that and wow, medyo na-discourage ako sa mga binanggit niya.   He’s telling the truth naman and he suggested that instead of becoming a solopreneur o agad-agad ay dapat i-hone ang skills by studying then  try to work for someone muna. Ang isa pa’y it’s good to  find a partner kaysa mag-solo.

“A business owner who works and runs their business alone.”

‘It’s neither inferior or superior to serve an independent consultant versus an entrepreneur (with staff, multiple products/services, etc.).  The key is to understand how you’ll thrive best, and choose the path that supports your individual core needs, values, and wants,’ Kathy Caprino, Forbes’ contributing writer.

Solopreneur vs. freelancer or self-employed

Ayon pa nga sa Bidsketch, solopreneurs are “… typically small business owners, business consultants, or other highly business-minded people such as virtual assistants, copywriters, and online developers. They’re either entrepreneurs in the traditional sense — creating something from nothing — or they use the label as a way to stand out from the crowd.

Going Solo in Entrepreneurship

Chinkee Tan How I Made My first MillionPaano nga ba pumasok sa kokote ko ang mag-solo?

  • personal branding
  • invest in educating yourself
  • Move out of your comfort zone
  • Connect or use your social networking sites wisely
  • Be consistent
  • Take calculated risks
