Because I’m a blogger and robust businesswoman wannabe , I’m enthusiastic to know about Google products. Lately, I’m active in Google Plus / Hangout since it has interesting features such as screen share that I use for my training. But for years, I’m also using Drive and Analytics for work and blogging.
Without a single company and need to wake up early, I attended #GDays Manila which was facilitated by Google Business Group (GBG) of San Juan last May 24 at Alphaland, Makati. It was my first time so I had no idea that this kind of event was already running in different areas including in my beloved Quezon City. Why I attend GDays if I can study everything online?
To obtain inspirations from real people
For years, nagbabasa ako ng mga magazine and books about business, blogging, SEO, social media, digital marketing etcetera, but still, I’m insatiable to learn more. Parang puro idea and theory kasi, walang application at hindi naman kumo’t sinabing effective itong concept na ito madaling gawin sa real life.
Listening to businesswomen such as Ivorie Acosta of CookieBar (homemade gourmet cookies) who was a former teacher, Vanj Padilla, Unlock and Load owner Ria Lu, and Pamela Cajilig of Curiosity Design Research was not just taking ideas but also experiencing business spirit.
I recommend for newbies na start to interact with community like GBG . Of course mayroong part yung nakaka-intimidate, awkward or out of place ka pero once na maka-relate ka na sa usapan you will learn. Dito sa GdaysManila parang all levels yung mga speakers and audience na nagkakaroon ng socialization tungkol sa inyong common interest. Ako wala akong gaanong nakausap sa event pero nung may game may nag-cheer sa akin at nanalo pa ako three times sa kanilang mini games.
Knowing ang company na number one search engine at tumalo sa Apple bilang number one brand sa buong mundo ngayon, it’s interesting to meet and greet their staff que local or international. Erica Hanson of GBG Program Manager/ Google Singapore and Lindsay Taub of GBG Women/ Google UK were just few example ng klase ng mga tao na nagpapalakas sa brand na ito.
From time to time I encounter this term but I never take it seriously before GDays Manila. So let’s see when my businesses start to boom and I will have more time to study it. No deadline yet pero I want to know this because I believe talagang patungo na lahat sa Digital Marketing and eCommerce at ayokong magpahuli.
