3 Major Lessons in iBlog: The 10th Philippine Blogging Summit

Janette Toral

Janette Toral

Mabuhay I’m part of iBlog: The 10th Philippine Blogging Summit or iBlog10 na ginanap sa Malcolm Hall, UP College of Law  nitong April 4 & 5.  Ang mga topics and speakers dito ay naghatid ng maraming lessons and ideas sa mga bloggers especially in creating many opportunities in their lives.

I will try to write  in detail yung ilang talk pero sa magkakahiwalay na post  and in no particular order/ dates. Sa ngayon I want to share the big lessons  na nagustuhan ko sa event na ito.

Form Advocacy with your Blogging Community

Tonyo Cruz

May step by step  sa pagkamit ng success sa blogging na nakuha ko sa presentation nina Vanj Padilla,  Noemi Lardizabal Dado, Vince Golangco  at Tonyo Cruz.  Sa point ng  buhay ko  ngayon, hindi pa ako handa “to give back”  because of  personal/ offline reasons but definitely I want this blog as my  avenue to do public service.  Hindi pa siguro strong  pero gusto kong i-advocate ang:

  • Free Transportation service for Senior Citizens
  • Magkaroon panuntunan  sa paglalagay ng height and age limit, preferred universities, at  6-month contract  against sa mga job postings
  • Ma-enhance ang requirements para sa mga tatakbong official sa gobyerno  (sana man lang may 6 months to 1 year public administration / political science education)

Jinoe Gavan

Saan naman papasok ang Blogging Community or Network? Kung gusto mong magkaroon ng kasama sa iyong advocacy or ibang misyon like building web traffic, meeting fellow bloggers or to pump up your business agenda better to collaborate with people who are like you. Pinakagusto kong nag-explain nito ay ang runner blogger na si Jinoe Gavan at Ruben Licera Jr..  I think I like to create a blogging community na may connect sa…

  • Bloggers from Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City (keywords? Killer Highway, Payatas Dumpsite, epal politicians,  etc)
  • OFWs / Single mom to Self-employed / home-based business owners
  •  Enterprising Arts and Crafts using Recycled Materials

Enrich your blogging knowledge to become the next thriving technopreneur

Genesis Reonico

It’s natural na next to blogging  ay magka- online business or maging technopreneur. Bakit?  Ano pa dahil parehong gumagamit ng computer & Internet-  how cost effective ‘di ba?  Well medyo hindi pa nagme-merge ‘yong business ko (what’s my venture read Homebased Business ) sa type ng bina-blog ( my various passions) ko pero definitely malaki ang tulong ng blog life ko sa aking entrepreneurial quest.

Of course  may steps and formulas to become a successful blogger  and technopreneur, kasama na roon ang SEO and link building ( talk ni Jayson Bagio)  , Digital Marketing  (Grace Bondad NicolasJonel Uy, and  Fitz Villafuerte), finding your business mentor (Christian Blanquera), Advertising/ Branding (Jeoff Solas, Mannix Borromeo Pabalan, and Brad Geiser)  at iba pa.

Fitz, Grace, Jonel and Atty. JJ

To date, wala pa ako sa level nila Janette Toral, Carlo Ople , Fitz, Genesis ReonicoSonnie Santos and Mrs. Padilla.  I know I have to work hard  para maabot ang kanilang estado and I think ang kanilang common denominators are dream + skills/ passion + training + hardwork + keep on evolving = successful online serial entrepreneur.

 The Internet in the Philippines

Howie Severino

Aminado mismo si Howie Severino that Internet revolutionizes journalism in  the Philippines mas nagiging multi-tasking ang mga reporters,  involve ang mga citizens, at mas maraming source of information.  I asked him about how they handle kuryente reports ( news na eventually wrong may information pala), disseminating news na puwedeng  mag-cause ng public panic and  stand niya sa effect ng blogging (good or bad) sa news reporting or journalism.

Here’s the  video:
