From time to time, we can lose focus on what we are doing. It may be because we are too preoccupied, tired, bored, etc. The good thing is that we can do some “power-ups” to improve our job performance and become better and wiser.
1. GASP IDEAS THROUGH WALKING. Did you know that, apart from burning fat, you can also exercise your mind through walking? One time, I walked around our neighborhood and noticed stores and houses that were unfamiliar to me. After that, I realized the latest trends in small-time businesses and became more aware of my surroundings. Furthermore, you can invigorate yourself by seeing different things and talking to other people.
2. SOCIALIZE TO CONNECT. Working and having a circle of friends should not stop us from getting to know others. Who knows? These people might help when you’re in dire need of something. More importantly, being with others helps you stay grounded and gain life experience. Of course, good advice for socializing is to learn how to relate to different kinds of people, choose your friends wisely, and not change yourself just to fit in.
In this aspect, maintaining social networking sites is commendable. Remember that networking can help your career and business.
3. READ TO BEEF UP. Some of you may think that books are for geeks, but learning through reading is a very worthwhile habit. If you feel awkward reading books, try magazines, newspapers, e-books, informative websites, or even blogs. Never underestimate the benefits of reading. Whether the material is in English or Tagalog, you might encounter new words that can enhance your vocabulary, diction, and communication skills. And if you know more, you can express yourself more effectively.
4. WRITE TO REMEMBER. We may be teased for our poor penmanship, but writing or note-taking saves us when memory gaps strike. For reminders and to accomplish tasks, we should keep planners, checklists, pin-ups, notebooks, bulletins, and whiteboards. Writing is essential, especially if you’re planning or already running a business. Inventory management and bookkeeping are vital in any venture, particularly when it comes to balancing your finances.
Another advantage of writing is that it allows you to express your ideas and even your negative emotions. What if you have the potential to become a writer or a poet? It is also helpful to jot down your ideas, goals, plans, and New Year’s resolutions so you can track your achievements. Writing also helps you manage your anger. When you write, you tend to analyze first and, at the same time, delay your outburst. And maybe, when you’re done, you naturally calm down.
5. FOLLOW YOUR PRIORITIES. We may read, jot down notes, bond with people, and walk all day long, but if we forget to organize our things or even our thoughts, that becomes a problem. It is like a table full of tools and clutter.
If you are really aiming for something, you must know how to get there step by step. Prioritize what you need to do first and set both short-term and long-term goals.
6. PRAYER WORKS. It is hard to argue about belief, but never stop praying, meditating, or having faith. Losing hope is a dead end in your journey. When you pray, you are also talking to yourself. Even if you’re down, you know you will soon soar high again. Through praying, you also realize your mistakes, sins, and failures. These things can encourage you to be humble and appreciate your blessings.

Isa lang nagagawa ko dito: SOCIALIZE TO HOOK UP.
😛
